Handmade Curtains
Our handcrafted, made-to-measure curtains are designed around the way light moves through your space — and the way you live in it. Specified from a collection of over 15,000 fabrics, handmade in our East Sussex workroom and installed by our own fitting team, every pair of curtains we create is built to the highest standard and tailored to your exact requirements. We work with homeowners, interior designers and commercial clients across Sussex, Kent, Surrey and London.
Pencil pleat curtains
The pencil pleat heading is one of the most versatile and enduringly popular curtain styles — and for good reason. Its tightly gathered, flowing folds work equally well in traditional and contemporary interiors, and it accommodates a wide variety of fabrics, from lightweight sheers to structured wool blends. Our made-to-measure pencil pleat curtains are hand-stitched in our workroom, with precise pleat spacing and generous fullness ratios that give the finished curtain a full, considered drape. Available across the full range of our 15,000+ fabric collection.
Pinch pleat curtains
Double and triple pinch pleat curtains offer a more tailored, formal finish — the choice of interior designers specifying for drawing rooms, dining rooms, hotel suites and high-specification residential projects. The permanently stitched pleats create a structured, architectural heading that hangs with real authority, particularly with heavier interlined or lined fabrics. Our double pinch pleat works beautifully in contemporary settings; our triple pinch pleat delivers a fuller, more traditional finish suited to period properties and classic interiors. All our pinch pleat curtains are made to your exact drop, return and pleat spacing.
Wave curtains
Wave curtains have become the defining window treatment for contemporary architecture — particularly for the large expanses of glazing found in modern extensions, open-plan living spaces and commercial interiors. The continuous, evenly-spaced wave effect is achieved through a specialist track system and precisely calculated fullness, giving a clean, sculptural appearance that moves with extraordinary elegance when drawn. Our wave curtains are particularly popular in hotels and commercial hospitality settings, where the combination of design refinement, motorisation compatibility and acoustic performance make them a highly practical as well as beautiful choice.
Blackout curtains
Our made-to-measure blackout curtains are specified for bedrooms, nurseries, home cinemas, hotel guest rooms and any space where precise light control is a priority. Using specialist blackout linings — including interlined blackout constructions that also provide meaningful thermal and acoustic performance — our blackout curtains stop light effectively without sacrificing any of the aesthetic qualities of the face fabric. For hospitality clients and care homes where both blackout performance and FR compliance are required, we offer a range of Contract-grade blackout fabrics tested to BS5867 and CRIB 5 standards.
Thermal curtains
Thermally-lined curtains are one of the most effective and cost-efficient ways to improve a building's thermal performance at the windows — a significant source of heat loss in most UK properties. Our thermal curtains use specialist interlined and wadded linings to create an insulating layer between the fabric face and the glass, reducing draughts and heat transfer significantly. For residential projects undergoing retrofit or energy efficiency improvements, thermally lined curtains can contribute to overall fabric performance assessments. For commercial clients, they can support sustainability reporting and reduce heating energy consumption in spaces with large glazed areas.
Sheer curtains
Sheer and voile curtains are the subtle art of window dressing — creating privacy and softening natural light without blocking the view or darkening a room. Our sheer curtains are available in a wide range of weights and weaves, from the lightest silk-effect voiles to more structured semi-sheer linen blends, and can be used alone as a single layer or in combination with a heavier curtain for a fully dressed window. Particularly effective in south and west-facing rooms where direct sunlight needs diffusing without losing the sense of space and light, sheer panels are also a practical choice for ground-floor windows where privacy is needed during the day.
Interlined curtains
Interlining is the hallmark of a truly luxurious handmade curtain — and the detail that separates a curtain that simply hangs from one that drapes with real weight, depth and elegance. An interlining layer, sandwiched between the face fabric and the lining, adds substance and structure to any curtain fabric, giving even lightweight silks and linens the body they need to hang properly. Beyond aesthetics, interlining delivers meaningful improvements in thermal insulation, acoustic dampening and light exclusion. Our interlined curtains are hand-stitched throughout, with the interlining carefully locked to the face fabric to ensure it moves as one piece and retains its structure over years of daily use.
Curtain pelmets
A well-designed pelmet or valance is one of the most powerful tools in a curtain designer's kit — creating a strong architectural frame for a window, concealing tracks and hardware, adding a layer of thermal insulation at the top of the curtain, and giving a room a sense of height and considered finish that simply isn't achievable any other way. Our handmade pelmets are constructed to your specification in straight or shaped profiles, upholstered in your chosen fabric and fitted with precision. We also offer soft fabric valances for a more relaxed, traditional finish. Pelmets are particularly effective in high-ceilinged period properties, hotel rooms and any commercial space where the window treatment is a key part of the design scheme.
